About
The title of the blog comes from the Inaguration Ceremony in October, 2004 when the president of the Toccoa Falls College Student Government Association referred to me in his speech as “the top dog”. That started a chain of events with the presentation of a child’s stuffed dog to me from our chairman of the board with the words “Top Dog” on its collar. Later I would receive a gift from Brummer’s Chocolates in Vermilion Ohio with a chocolate bone and the words “Top Dog” written on the chocolate.
I was born in Georgia and have been at Toccoa Falls College for twenty-five years. My wife and I have three daughters, three sons-in-law, and six grandchildren.
I love the game of golf and for seven years coached the Toccoa Falls College Golf Team. My lowest score is 78 on a par 72 course. I have had 4 eagles in my life time but no hole in one.
I also am an Eagle Scout and as an Explorer Post Leader escorted ten explorers to Philmont Scout Ranch where we hiked around 125 miles and climbed Mount Baldy which I recall is 12,400 feet high.
My wife and I have traveled to Asia, Ecuador, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada and other locations within the 48 states.
